Hours of work are 15 per month, working from home. A laptop and printer will be provided. The starting salary will be between LC1 points 5-12, dependent on experience and qualifications.
Norton & Cuckney Parish Council is a small but progressive and active Council. It has 8 Councillors, currently with 1 vacant seat. At present, the Council meets each month (except August) on the second Thursday. Meetings start at 7.30pm and last approximately two hours; the Clerk must attend these meetings. These meetings are currently held remotely via Zoom, so a good understanding of video conferencing is essential.
The post of Parish Clerk can be demanding and will require some evening and, possibly, occasional weekend working. The ideal candidate will be an excellent communicator, with a 'can do' attitude, who can demonstrate a proven record in administrative and financial management. Good business acumen is desirable. Candidates with previous local government experience, including knowledge of the parish council sector, will be welcome although, persons with transferable skills from other sectors would be seriously considered. A Certificate in Local Council Administration (CiLCA) is desirable but not essential.
