Finance Training


Notts. ALC is delighted to be able to inform you that we can now offer a range of Financial training courses. The training is provided by Steve Parkinson, who some of you may know from previous courses, and his associates. The courses are run in real time online and take in delegates from all over the country. This means he is able to offer a range of dates and times for each subject covered so most people should be able to find something to suit. 

The courses for this year are listed in the table below and details of what each covers can be found by selecting the more information link in the table below or selecting from the drop down menu of the Finance Training page above. 

Please note that the dates and timings of all of the courses listed below are included in the calendar which is accessed via our Training page or clicking on the following link - Courses Calendar.

Future training dates for 2022 will be added as they are made available so if you do not want to attend immediately keep checking our calendar for new dates.

Please note: Where the same event appears but states 'for clerks' on one date and 'for councillors' on another, the content is the same - the events have been split to keep questions relevant and to provide an environment where everyone feels able to speak out. Councillors cannot therefore book on clerk's events and vice versa - if this is found to have happened the booking will be cancelled or the person will be removed from the session and no refund will be issued.

Booking Details

If you wish to book a place on any finance training events, please inform of the attendees name, email address, event title, preferred date and a second date in case the preferred date is fully booked.

Please note all finance training is delivered via Zoom and there are no face to face alternatives available.

Once a booking is made the council will be invoiced at £30 per delegate (£60 for non NALC members), per event and the fee will be payable immediately to secure the place/s.

In making a booking, you are confirming that you have the necessary approval from the council to attend the event and that payment of the fee has already been authorised.

Cancellation of a booking within 7 days of the event occurring will result in a loss of fees so please try to make arrangements for someone else to take your place.

Cancellation of a place more than 7 days prior to the event will incur a £10 per person, per event, administration fee, any remaining payment will be refunded.
